Who it is for

Inventory Management is built for businesses that outgrew a spreadsheet but do not want a implementation project. That is typically a warehouse between a few hundred and a few tens of thousands of items: wholesalers, webshops, manufacturers with a parts store, installation companies with a van stock, and service organisations that need to know where their equipment is. You do not need a server, an IT department, or dedicated scanning hardware to start, because the app runs on the phones your team already carries.

Why not a spreadsheet

A spreadsheet has one copy, one editor at a time, and no memory of who changed what. The moment two colleagues work on the same stock, or someone books a movement from the warehouse floor rather than a desk, it stops being reliable. Inventory Management syncs across every device on the account, so the picker on the floor and the manager at the desk look at the same figures, and every movement is recorded with the product, location, quantity, moment and user. That transaction history is what a spreadsheet fundamentally cannot give you.

Getting started

Setting up takes three steps. First create your storage locations, either one at a time or as a series such as A1 through A10. Then register what is currently on the shelves as inbound movements, which builds your product list as you go. From that point on, book every receipt, shipment and relocation as it happens, and add counting once the basics are routine. Most warehouses are running productively within a day, because there is nothing to install and no data to migrate first.
